The new 6ALN and 6TN Ignitions were designed with circle track racing in mind and are approved for use by NASCAR. Both ignitions feature MSD's race winning capacitive discharge ignition design and are combined with heavy duty vibration protection.
The year NASCAR added a new rule (20-6.1) requiring all ignitions to have the same 6-pin Weathertight Connector. Both of these ignitions feature the correct connector to form a positive locking and sealed connection.
The cast aluminum housings provide a solid mounting foundation for the circuit board and transformer. For added protection, a two part silicone elastomer encases the circuit board making it impossible for parts to vibrate loose. To top it off, both ignitions are equipped with sturdy vibration mounts.
The 6ALN features a built-in Soft Touch Rev Control. The 6TN has a special 4-pin connector to plug directly into an external Rev Control (PN 8738). Both Ignitions will install to points, electronic ignitions and magnetic pickups and are supplied with matching wiring harnesses.
